Skye Perry is a lifelong musician, entrepreneur, and board member of Education Through Music Colorado (ETM‑CO). Music shaped my childhood and remains central to who I am: I studied saxophone, violin, string bass and percussion in school, led ensembles as a drum major, and continued performing through adulthood on bass guitar, drums and acoustic guitar. That musical foundation taught me listening, discipline, collaboration and creative problem‑solving — skills I’ve carried into building and advising companies.

As an ETM‑CO board member I founded the Musicianship in Business (MIB) program to spotlight Colorado business leaders whose musicianship influenced their careers. MIB features quarterly ambassador profiles, studio recordings, and curated networking events that connect musician‑leaders with one another and with ETM‑CO students and schools. The program raises awareness about the lifelong benefits of music education while creating tangible ways for professionals to support music in under‑resourced classrooms.

Music also shows up in unexpected places in my professional life. A favorite example: in 2014 SSP Innovations recorded a full studio single and video — “GIS You Up” — as a marketing and team‑building project. The campaign became a memorable industry moment and demonstrated how creative musical projects can strengthen culture, storytelling, and community engagement.

If you’re a musician in business, a potential MIB ambassador, or an organization interested in partnering or sponsoring events, I’d love to connect. Learn more about ETM‑CO and the MIB program at etmcolorado.org, see the SSP music project at sspinnovations.com/ssptv/gis-you-up, or reach out to discuss ways to support music education.

Skye currently performs regularly on drums & bass at Castle Oaks Covenant Church in Castle Rock, CO as well as in an acoustic duo with Tanya Pomirchy covering country, pop, and soul tunes!
